The story is entitled Treason but it could have easily been entitled Two Jag Officers, or The
Prosecution vs. The Defense
, or Model becomes a Lawyer or ... you get my point.  The
subject of Treason is there but it is not the main storyline of the novel nor is it particularly
necessary to the main plat which is how one Male JAG attorney, competes with, and end up
with one female JAG attorney.  The dialog is easy and rapid and makes for a good read.
The initial storyline is interesting and the mix of story lines is interesting.  There are certain
aspects of the story that just don;t work. For instance the story beings with one of our
"heros" as a fashion model and after her father, a career Navy Officer, has a stroke, she
goes to law school to honor her father, and within a few pages of the story ends up in JAG.
Okay, I guess.  The story centers on these two attorneys, Zack and Diane, and their
competition to see who is the best.  One subplot is rape case in which a enlisted man is
defended by Diane and prosecuted by Zack. The prosecution's case is so weak, no
physical evidence,  no injuries to the female officer who has a "thing for enlisted Navy
SEALS," that the enlisted man's innocence is clear, but she losses the case. Meanwhile, US
Navy sailors, all who are Muslims, have committed acts of murder and after Zack's major in
the rape case, the President of the United States wants him to prosecute the three
captured US Navy Muslin plotters. Why did the President select a attorney with just three
years experience over the hundreds of more senor lawyers in JAG? Good question. Well
the trail begins and ends quickly with a predictable conclusion, and the Attorneys Diane
and Zack end up together- predictably.
