Sandra Brown
Simon & Schuster Adult Publishing Group
Sandra Brown is one of the most successful authors going with over sixty works in print.
Ms. Brown is know for relatively uncomplicated stories with either a lot of sex or a little sex
thrown it to spice it up, how much sex depends on how "serious" the book is. Play Dirty is a
no exception to her standard plan of story and sex, and it will work for her fans--but not for
me.
The story is about a pro football player, Griff, who throws a game, gets caught, does his
time then is released. At this point we join the story. Immediately upon release from prison
he is approached by a now paralyzed multi-millionaire to father a child with his wife, Laura,
and to father it the "traditional" way and not merely by artificial insemination. Our hero
accepts the offer as it is accompanied by a ton of money. Griff and Laura find sex, death,
bad guys; they go to bed, go with each other, go on the lam, and even go against the
cops. The sex starts cold and somewhat graphic and gets steamy and graphic, but I am not
sure how this hot sex leads to the hot love in this story. The sex is predictably steamy but
the plot barely heats up in this one. I'm sure Sandra Brown fans it will love it as they love
her style.
